Description
Cranberry chutney with apples and celery
Ingredients
- Apple Cider Vinegar - ½ cup
- Brown Sugar - ¾ cup
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Cardamom - ½ teaspoon
- Celery stalk - ½ cup
- Dried ground orange peel - 1 cup
- Spanish onions - 1 head
- Dried cranberries with sugar - 5 cups
- Apple - 2 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Chop the candied orange peel into small cubes. Finely chop the red onion. Peel and core the apples, then cut them into small cubes.
Step 2
In a saucepan, combine the vinegar, sugar, salt, cardamom, candied orange peel, celery, onion, apples, and 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and simmer until the apples are soft and most of the liquid has evaporated, about 30–40 minutes.
Step 3
Add the cranberries and cook for another 10–15 minutes, until the berries start to burst. Remove from heat.
Step 4
Transfer to a bowl and cool.
