Description
Cranberry Sauce with White Onion and Light Raisins
Ingredients
- Sugar - 1 cup
- Spanish onions - 9.9 oz
- Dried cranberries with sugar - 17.6 oz
- Light Raisins, Seedless - 3.4 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Boil the onion in boiling water for 3 minutes, drain, and slice thinly.
Step 2
Pour the sugar into a pan and place it over high heat, stirring with a fork until it softens, then cook until it reaches a caramel state. Remove from heat and carefully pour in 1 cup of boiling water, stirring again. Return to heat and cook until the caramel completely dissolves.
Step 3
Add the raisins, cranberries, and onion, and cook the mixture, stirring constantly, for 10 minutes, until the cranberries become soft.
Step 4
Remove from heat, let the sauce cool, and transfer to a sauceboat or drizzle over the prepared dish.
