Duck Breast with Soy Sauce
Ingredients
- Duck Breast - 10.6 oz
- Ocean salt - a pinch
- Turmeric - a pinch
- Mild Chili Spice - a pinch
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Toasted Sesame - 1 teaspoon
- Soy Sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Lemon - 1 piece
- Water - 3 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Make shallow cuts in the skin of the duck breast (without cutting into the meat) and season with salt.
Step 2
Crush the garlic with a chef's knife.
Step 3
Place the duck skin-side down in a dry, heated skillet. Once the fat renders, add the garlic and season with salt.
Step 4
Periodically baste the meat with the garlic fat.
Step 5
Once the skin is nicely browned, flip the duck and reduce the heat to medium.
Step 6
Season with turmeric and chili. After 3–5 minutes, flip again and cook for another minute.
Step 7
Then transfer to a baking dish.
Step 8
Place in a preheated oven at 320°F for 8 minutes.
Step 9
Mix the soy sauce with water and add the juice of a small piece of lemon.
Step 10
Slice the breast into thick slices.
Step 11
Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve.
