Description
Dumplings with Sour Cream Dough
Ingredients
- Sour Cream - 1 cup
- Kefir - ½ cup
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Vegetable Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Activated Baking Soda - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - ½ teaspoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Wheat Flour - 2½ cups
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a deep bowl, mix together sour cream, kefir, egg, sugar, salt, and vegetable oil.
Step 2
Gradually add the sifted flour mixed with baking soda.
Step 3
Knead the dough for a few seconds until it is tender and soft. If necessary, you can add a little more flour, but do not overdo it — it's better to use flour when shaping the dumplings.
Step 4
Start shaping the dumplings immediately.
Step 5
On a generously floured surface, shape the dumplings. Do not add too much filling: they may burst while frying as they rise significantly.
Step 6
In a skillet, heat some vegetable oil and fry the dumplings over medium heat.
Step 7
Since the dumplings rise significantly while frying, they will also need to be cooked on their sides.
Step 8
Place the finished dumplings on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
