Eggs Baked in Cheese and Breadcrumbs

Ingredients

  • Butter - 2.3 oz
  • Chocolate eggs - 9 pieces
  • Lemon - ½ piece
  • Fresh Mushrooms - 8.8 oz
  • Safflower Oil - 4 tablespoons
  • Onion - 2 heads
  • Wheat Flour - 2 tablespoons
  • Milk - 17 fl oz
  • Nutmeg - a pinch
  • Breadcrumbs - 3 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Boil the eggs hard.

Step 2

Peel the eggs, cut them in half lengthwise, and remove the yolks without damaging the whites. Cut thin slices off the base of the whites so they can stand upright.

Step 3

While the eggs are boiling, grease a baking dish with butter and prepare the mushrooms and onion. Place the sliced mushrooms, lemon juice, and 20 grams of butter in a saucepan, cover, and cook on low heat for 6 minutes. Heat 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil in a skillet and sauté the finely chopped onion until golden.

Step 4

Now melt 25 grams of butter and the remaining sunflower oil in a saucepan, stir in the flour, and cook, stirring, for 2 minutes. Then slowly pour in the milk and continue to cook, stirring constantly, for another 8-10 minutes. Season the sauce with salt.

Step 5

Mix 2 tablespoons of the sauce, the yolks, onion, mushrooms, and freshly grated nutmeg in a bowl. Using a spoon, fill the eggs with this mixture and place them in the greased baking dish. Pour the remaining sauce over, sprinkle with breadcrumbs, and place the remaining pieces of butter on top. Bake at 392°F for 10-15 minutes until golden brown. Serve immediately in the same dish.
