Description
Serve with grilled meat or chicken. Also, brush the sauce on the meat while grilling to create a golden crust.
Ingredients
- Green Figs - 4.2 oz
- Coarse Salt - 1½ teaspoons
- Passata Tomato Sauce - 2½ g
- Balsamic Vinegar - ¼ cup
- Safflower Oil - 2 teaspoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Place the figs in a bowl and cover with 2 cups of boiling water. Let sit for 5 minutes. Drain. Transfer to a blender.
Step 2
Add the vinegar, tomato paste, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Blend until smooth.
Step 3
Heat the sunflower oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
Step 4
Then add the fig mixture, 1 cup of water, and the bay leaf. Simmer on low heat for 15 minutes, season with salt, and remove the bay leaf.
