Florentine Beefsteak

Ingredients

  • Beef - 14.1 oz
  • Olive Oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Paprika - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 4 cloves
  • Butter - 1.4 oz
  • Thyme - 0.7 oz
  • Citrus Zest Mix - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Meyer Lemon Juice - 3 teaspoons

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Rub the meat with a mixture of olive oil and paprika, and let it marinate for 30 minutes.

Step 2

Season the prepared meat with salt and sear it over high heat on both sides until browned.

Step 3

Transfer the seared meat to a baking tray, place three to four cloves of peeled garlic next to it, and put it in the oven preheated to 160–356°F. Bake for 25–30 minutes or longer until fully cooked.

Step 4

Bake the garlic in the oven for 20 minutes, removing it before the meat. Place it on a plate and let it cool.

Step 5

While the meat finishes cooking, make the sauce: mix softened butter with thyme and one teaspoon of lemon zest. Add chopped roasted garlic and mix well. Store the finished sauce in the refrigerator.

Step 6

Remove the cooked meat from the oven, cover it with foil, and let it rest for 10 minutes.

Step 7

When serving, drizzle the meat with lemon juice and top with the sauce.
