French Rice Pilaf
Ingredients
- Basmati rice - 5.3 oz
- Shallot - 2.3 oz
- Saffron - 1 teaspoon
- Chicken Broth - 10 fl oz
- Olive Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Butter - 0.4 oz
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Ocean salt - to taste
- Chili Flakes - to taste
- Microgreens - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Finely chop the shallots.
Step 2
Melt both types of oil in a skillet.
Step 3
Add the shallots to the skillet. Sauté, stirring, over high heat for 2–3 minutes.
Step 4
Add the rice to the skillet.
Step 5
Sauté, stirring, for 4–5 minutes.
Step 6
Add the saffron. Stir well.
Step 7
Pour the broth into the rice. Cook over medium heat until almost completely evaporated.
Step 8
Create a cartouche from baking paper.
Step 9
Season the rice with salt and pepper.
Step 10
Transfer the rice to a baking dish and cover with the cartouche.
Step 11
Place in a preheated oven at 356°F for 18 minutes.
Step 12
Serve on a plate, garnished with microgreens and chili flakes. Ready.
