Description

The layers can be swapped depending on preference or mood. Some ingredients can be completely omitted (for example, mushrooms, meat, or tomatoes). Mayonnaise can be replaced with sour cream, which will make the dish taste more delicate, and you can add less water. Alternatively, you can use processed cheese instead of regular hard cheese, in slices, such as Laughing Cow or President.

Ingredients

  • Pork Blood - 17.6 oz
  • Pickled Chanterelles - 10.6 oz
  • Onion - 4 pieces
  • Salad Potatoes - 5 pieces
  • Edam Cheese - 7.1 oz
  • Tomatoes - 2 pieces
  • Spices - to taste
  • Mayonnaise - 3 tablespoons
  • Water - 8 fl oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Cut the pork (or any other meat) into portion-sized pieces, tenderize, and rub with seasoning (stores sell special spice mixes for French-style potatoes, or you can use any other spices you like), and lightly sauté.

Step 2

Cut the mushrooms and potatoes into small pieces. Slice the onion into half-rings and the tomatoes into rings. Grate the cheese.

Step 3

In a skillet (preferably deep, or even better, a pot like a Dutch oven), layer the sautéed pork, followed by the mushrooms, onion, potatoes, a bit of seasoning or salt and pepper, and tomatoes. Once everything is layered, take the mayonnaise and spread it evenly with a spoon. Sprinkle with cheese. Add a little water to prevent the pork at the bottom from burning.

Step 4

Cover with a lid and set on low heat — it should allow the water to evaporate slowly. Simmer for 75 minutes to 1.5 hours.
