Fried Celery Root
Ingredients
- Celery salt - 1 piece
- Sumac - ½ teaspoon
- Mild Chili Spice - ½ teaspoon
- Herbes de Provence - ½ teaspoon
- Olive Oil - 1½ tablespoons
- Butter - 1½ pieces
- Lime Juice - 1 tablespoon
- Flaky sea salt - a pinch
- Ocean salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Peel the celery root.
Step 2
Cut it like French fries.
Step 3
Drizzle with lime juice.
Step 4
Heat the butter and olive oil in a pan, add a pinch of coarse salt.
Step 5
Add the sliced celery.
Step 6
Once the bottom side is browned, stir.
Step 7
Season with herbs de Provence.
Step 8
Stir and add sumac. Continue frying over high heat.
Step 9
After 2 minutes, season with chili pepper and stir. Add salt.
Step 10
Reduce heat to medium and cook for another 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 11
Transfer to a serving dish and serve.
