Ingredients

  • Perch - 1 piece
  • Vegetable Oil - 1 fl oz
  • Rosemary - 1 sprig
  • Thyme - 0.1 oz
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Salt - to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Prepare all the ingredients.

Step 2

Clean the pike perch from scales and gut it.

Step 3

Cut the fish into fillets, and then cut the fillets into portion-sized pieces.

Step 4

Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet.

Step 5

Add whole cloves of garlic, sprigs of thyme, and rosemary to the oil.

Step 6

Fry for 5 minutes over low heat, ensuring the garlic and herbs do not burn but release their aroma.

Step 7

Remove the garlic and herbs from the oil, increase the heat, and place the fish in the skillet skin side down.

Step 8

Season the fish with salt and pepper and fry for 3–5 minutes until the skin is golden brown.

Step 9

Flip the fish and fry for just 1 more minute.

Serve the cooked pike perch with your favorite side dish, such as mashed potatoes.
