- Potato - 20 oz
- Milk - 5 fl oz
- Campbell's Beef Broth - 10 fl oz
- Stewed Meat - 10 oz
- Beetroot - 10 oz
- Pickles - 15 oz
- Chicken Egg - 4 pieces
- Pickled Cauliflower - 4 pieces
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Peel the potatoes, cut them into random pieces, and boil until cooked through. This will take about 20 minutes.
Step 3
Finely chop a small onion.
Step 4
Sauté in a pan with 15 grams of butter for 2 minutes.
Step 5
Add the meat to the same skillet and heat it through.
Step 6
Drain the cooked potatoes, add milk, and mash them into a puree. There's no need to overdo it; the puree should have some lumps.
Step 7
Add enough broth to keep the puree moist, but not too runny.
Step 8
Add the onion with the meat to the mashed potatoes, 200 grams of chopped beets, a tablespoon of beet marinade, mix well, and season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 9
Fry the sunny-side up eggs in the remaining oil.
Step 10
Place 2 spoonfuls of labskause on a plate, top with 1 fried egg, and garnish with slices of pickled beetroot, pickles, and herring.
