Description
You can marinate the goose with lemons before stuffing it. To achieve a more even golden color and avoid burning, it's better to use mayonnaise instead of sour cream.

- Goose fat - 6 lbs
- Green Apples - 2 pieces
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Rice - 1 cup
- Paprika - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Vegetable Oil - 2 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cut two large green apples into wedges. In a dry skillet, melt a tablespoon of sugar until light brown.
Step 2
Add two tablespoons of vegetable oil. Place the apples in the skillet and sauté, stirring, for 10-15 minutes.
Step 3
Separately, boil 1 cup of rice in salted water, drain, and rinse. Add the sautéed apples and a teaspoon of coarse paprika to the rice. Mix well.
Step 4
Rinse the goose thoroughly and dry it with a paper towel. Rub it with two teaspoons of salt. Then stuff it. Secure the openings with toothpicks. Place it on a baking sheet.
Step 5
Spread two to three tablespoons of sour cream or mayonnaise on top, and put it in the oven. Once the goose is lightly browned, cover it with foil and return it to the oven for an hour.
Step 6
Before serving, remove the toothpicks. Use the rice and apple stuffing as a side dish.
