Description
Gratin (Salmon Rolls with Shrimp and Cheese, Baked in the Oven)
Ingredients
- Salmon - 21.2 oz
- Edam Cheese - 3.5 oz
- Mayonnaise - 1.4 oz
- Dill - ½ bunch
- Olive Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Peeled Cooked Shrimp - 12 pieces
- Fish Oil - 0.1 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Take the salmon fillet (the salmon should be slightly frozen) and cut it at an angle into 8 fillets, each 2.5–3 cm thick. Then, gently pound each piece. Each roll will consist of two salmon fillets. Place one piece on top of the other, overlapping by about 4–5 cm. You will have a long piece of fillet, which you should sprinkle with fish seasoning.
Step 2
Next, take the shrimp and cut them in half. Place 2 shrimp on each roll. Position them at the end of the roll where you will start to roll it up.
Step 3
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater, add mayonnaise and finely chopped dill. Mix well and form a ball in your palm (it should be neither too small nor too large), then place it on the salmon next to the shrimp.
Step 4
Then, take the end where you placed the cheese and shrimp, and start rolling it up. After rolling, shape it in your hand like a barrel to seal the bottom so that the cheese doesn't leak out, while the top should remain open.
Step 5
After that, place the rolls on a baking sheet lightly greased with oil. Top each roll with one shrimp cut in half, but not all the way through, so it opens up like a fan, and sprinkle a little grated cheese on top. You can also drizzle a bit of olive oil over them.
Step 6
Place in a preheated oven at 160–338°F for 15–20 minutes.
