Greek Salad Italian Style
Ingredients
- Olives stuffed with lemon - 3.5 oz
- Feta cheese - 10.6 oz
- Orange Bell Peppers - 2 pieces
- Cucumbers - 2 pieces
- Tomatoes - 2 pieces
- Spanish onions - 1 head
- Olive Oil - 3 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Basil - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Thinly slice the onion (into half-rings), sprinkle with salt, crush it slightly, and lightly drizzle with balsamic or wine vinegar (if unavailable, apple cider vinegar can be used as a substitute).
Step 2
Thoroughly rinse and dry the salad leaves. Wash all the vegetables and let them drain.
Step 3
Cut the bell pepper, cucumber, and tomato into fairly large cubes (about 1.5x1.5 cm).
Step 4
Take a dish where you will layer the salad. Line it with salad leaves so that the frilly edges decorate the rim of your dish.
Step 5
Layer the cucumber cubes on the salad leaves, followed by the bell peppers, and then the tomatoes (if you are adding extra salt to the salad, do so when you layer the tomatoes). Place the half-rings of onion and feta (or cream cheese) on top of the tomatoes.
Step 6
Lightly pepper the salad and garnish with small salad leaves and olives. If you love basil, add a couple of sprigs or use it as decoration.
Step 7
Drizzle the salad lightly with olive oil. If olive oil is unavailable, any vegetable oil can be used.
