Description
Grilled mushrooms are always a great option when you're craving flavorful vegetarian skewers. They are incredibly easy to prepare, but to ensure the mushrooms turn out delicious and meaty, a few rules must be followed. To make tasty grilled mushrooms, you should choose large mushrooms. The larger the mushroom, the longer it needs to cook on the grill, and the more attention you should pay to marinating it. For large mushrooms, it's best to keep only the caps, while medium-sized ones can be cut in half or into thirds. Secondly, the mushrooms should not only be marinated beforehand but also brushed with the same marinade during cooking—this way, they will absorb maximum flavor and aroma. It’s important to note that mushrooms themselves are not very flavorful or aromatic on their own. Thirdly, remember that mushrooms can lose up to 50% of their weight during cooking, so plan your portions accordingly.

- Champignons - 20 oz
- Soy Sauce - 2 spoons
- Balsamic Vinegar - 0 fl oz
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Parsley - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Sugar - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Vegetable Oil - 0 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Rinse the mushrooms, clean them with a brush, and pat them dry with a paper towel.
Step 2
Trim the stems off the mushrooms.
Step 3
Prepare the marinade. To do this, mix soy sauce and balsamic vinegar in a deep bowl.

Peel the garlic and chop it finely.
Step 5
Add garlic to the marinade.

Add oil, salt, sugar, and pepper to taste. You can substitute honey for sugar.

Mix the marinade, pour it over the mushrooms, and let them sit for 20 minutes.

Place the mushrooms on the rack of a preheated grill.
Step 9
Grill the mushrooms on a barbecue or grill for 3–5 minutes on each side. During the cooking process, brush the mushrooms with a little oil.

Serve the mushrooms sprinkled with finely chopped parsley.
