Ingredients
- Firm tofu - 14.1 oz
- Hoisin Sauce - 4 tablespoons
- Sesame Seeds - 2 teaspoons
- Grated Ginger - 1 tablespoon
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Red Chili Pepper - 1 piece
- Sesame Oil - to taste
- Shallot - 1 head
- Brown Rice - 8.8 oz
- Broccoli - 7.1 oz
- Edamame Beans - 1.8 oz
- Soy Sauce - 1 tablespoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Cut the tofu into wide strips, place it between two kitchen towels, press with a cutting board, and let it sit for 1 hour to squeeze out excess moisture.
Step 2
Preheat the grill to high heat. Brush the tofu with half of the hoisin sauce, place it on an oiled baking sheet, and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Grill for 6-8 minutes until golden and crispy. Flip the tofu, brush the other side with hoisin sauce, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and grill again until golden and crispy.
Step 3
Meanwhile, sauté the ginger, garlic, and chili in 1 teaspoon of sesame oil until fragrant. Add half of the shallot and sauté, stirring, for another minute. Add the rice and stir-fry for another 5 minutes until heated through. Then add the blanched broccoli and edamame, drizzle with soy sauce. Transfer to plates, top with the tofu, and sprinkle with the remaining shallot.
