Hawaiian Pork Ribs

Ingredients

  • Brown Sugar - 1 cup
  • Soy Sauce - 1 cup
  • Sesame Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Chili Flakes - 1 teaspoon
  • Garlic - 4 cloves
  • Pork Skewers - 3 lbs
  • Ginger - 3.5 oz
  • Shallot - 3 heads

Step by Step guide

Step 1

In a large bowl, mix together the sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, chili flakes, minced garlic, and ginger with 1/4 cup of water. Place the ribs in the bowl and coat them with the marinade. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let the ribs marinate (1 hour at room temperature or 12 hours in the refrigerator).

Step 2

Preheat the oven to 428°F. Remove the ribs from the marinade and place them curved side up on a baking sheet lined with foil. Bake in the oven for 20 minutes.

Step 3

While the ribs are baking, heat the marinade in a saucepan over medium heat, bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat and cook, stirring, until the marinade thickens. This will take about 20 minutes.

Step 4

Brush the ribs with the thickened marinade and bake for another 15-20 minutes. To achieve a glaze, it is necessary to brush the ribs with the marinade several times. Once done, place the ribs on a serving dish and sprinkle with finely chopped shallots. Enjoy your meal!
