Herring Under a Fur Coat with Egg
Ingredients
- Fillet of Sturgeon - 14.1 oz
- Potato - 12.3 oz
- Carrot - 8.8 oz
- Beetroot - 12.3 oz
- Chicken Egg - 4 pieces
- Apple - 10.6 oz
- Mayonnaise - 8.8 oz
- Dill - 0.4 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Boil the beetroot, potatoes, and carrots until tender.
Step 3
Place the eggs in boiling water and cook for 13 minutes. Cool them under running water.
Step 4
Dice the herring into small cubes.
Step 5
Peel the beets, potatoes, and carrots. Grate all the vegetables using a coarse grater. Place them in separate bowls, add a pinch of salt, and mix.
Step 6
Grate the eggs using a fine grater.
Step 7
Peel the apples, remove the seeds, and grate them using a coarse grater.
Step 8
Layer half of the potatoes on the bottom of the plate and spread mayonnaise over them. Next, add the herring, apple, remaining potatoes, carrots, eggs, and beets, spreading mayonnaise over each layer as you go.
Step 9
Coat the beetroot with the remaining mayonnaise and refrigerate for 1–2 hours.
Step 10
Serve the salad at the festive table, garnished with dill.
