Description
The prepared ketchup can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Ingredients
- Tomatoes - 15.9 oz
- Passata Tomato Sauce - 1.2 oz
- Spiced Tomato Juice - 3 fl oz
- Garlic - 0.6 oz
- Ginger - 0.7 oz
- Spanish onions - 1.2 oz
- Cayenne Pepper - 0.2 oz
- Cilantro - ½ bunch
- Olive Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Lemon-Pepper Mix - ½ teaspoon
- Ocean salt - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Pour boiling water over the large tomato for a couple of minutes. Then cool it with cold water.
Step 2
Peel off the skin.
Step 3
Chop the ginger, onion, and garlic coarsely.
Step 4
Dice the tomato into small cubes and sprinkle with salt.
Step 5
Finely chop the hot pepper. Do not remove the seeds.
Step 6
In a heavy-bottomed skillet, heat the oil and add the ginger, onion, and hot pepper.
Step 7
After a couple of minutes, stir and add the tomato. Reduce the heat to medium.
Step 8
Chop the herbs.
Step 9
After 3–5 minutes, when the tomato turns into a mash, add the tomato paste.
Step 10
Add the spices. Stir.
Step 11
After a minute, pour in the tomato juice.
Step 12
Add the garlic and cook for another 3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 13
When the mixture cools slightly, transfer it to a deep container and add the cilantro.
Step 14
Blend with an immersion blender until smooth.
Step 15
Transfer to a convenient storage container. Done!
