Description
There are many misconceptions surrounding pizza preparation. Some say that to make the perfect dough, you need special kneading techniques, a professional oven, or at least a special oven that can heat up to nearly the melting point of metal. In reality, pizza comes in various forms. What you have here is an American version: with yeast dough that is neither too thin nor too thick. You can easily bake this in any oven. Plus, you don’t need to overthink the toppings—if you have a can of olives, some cheese, and smoked sausage at home, you can get started right away.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour - 17.6 oz
- Water - 10 fl oz
- Sugar - 0.3 oz
- Dry yeast - 0.1 oz
- Olive Oil - 1 fl oz
- Salt - 0.5 oz
- Pizza Flour - 3 fl oz
- Spicy salami - 3.5 oz
- Pitted olives - 1.8 oz
- Pizza Mozzarella Cheese - 5.3 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Mix warm water with sugar and yeast, then let it sit for 5–10 minutes to activate the yeast.
Step 2
In the mixing bowl, add the flour, olive oil, salt, and water with the yeast.
Step 3
Knead the dough on a low speed using a dough hook attachment.
Step 4
Transfer the prepared dough to a greased bowl and cover it with plastic wrap. Place it in a warm area for 1 hour, until it doubles in size.

Slice the olives into thin rings.
Step 6
Grate the mozzarella cheese using a large grater.
Step 7
The prepared dough can be rolled out with a rolling pin to fit the size of the baking tray, but it’s better to stretch it evenly by hand — this way, more air bubbles will remain in the dough.

Transfer the dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Evenly spread the pizza sauce over the dough.
Step 10
Arrange pieces of sausage and slices of olives on the sauce, then sprinkle with mozzarella.
Step 11
Place the pizza in an oven preheated to 482°F for 5–7 minutes. The edges of the crust should be golden brown, and the cheese should be melted.
