Homemade shashlik in sparkling water marinade
Ingredients
- Meat - 2 lbs
- Mayonnaise - 7.1 oz
- Sparkling water - 17 fl oz
- Herbs - 1 bunch
- Spices - to taste
- Onion - 3 pieces
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Vinegar essence - 1 teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
First, let's prepare the marinade. In a bowl, mix mayonnaise, a bottle of sparkling water, salt, black pepper, a bit of vinegar, and spices to taste — I used pork seasoning, herbs de Provence, and all-purpose seasoning. Add the herbs (just tear them by hand), onion cut into large rings, and sliced garlic.
Step 2
Cut the meat (it can be either beef or pork) into pieces suitable for shashlik and soak it in the marinade. Pork should be soaked for about an hour, while beef needs about one and a half hours, depending on the tenderness of the meat.
Step 3
After marinating, bake in the oven at 392°F for one hour.
