Homemade Spicy Ketchup
Ingredients
- Tomatoes - 7.1 oz
- Passata Tomato Sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Chili jam - 2 tablespoons
- Olive Oil - 1 tablespoon
- Ocean salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Sumac - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - to taste
- Red Wine Vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Spanish onions - 0.9 oz
- Garlic - 0.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Heat olive oil in a pan. Add finely chopped tomatoes and season with salt. Simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes, stirring.
Step 2
Add sumac.
Step 3
Add finely chopped red onion. Stir.
Step 4
After a minute, add tomato paste.
Step 5
Add chili sauce.
Step 6
Add black pepper. Stir.
Step 7
After 2 minutes, add sugar or sweetener to taste.
Step 8
Pour in a tablespoon of red wine vinegar. Stir.
Step 9
After 2 minutes, add garlic, pressed through a garlic press.
Step 10
After 1–2 minutes, remove from heat and let cool. Done!
