Description
For this salad, autumn seasonal firm tomatoes (slightly larger than cherry tomatoes) or ladyfinger tomatoes are ideal. The flavor of the salad will heavily depend on the quality of ground cumin; it is best to buy it from spice vendors at the market. Avoid using old ground cumin that has been sitting around for a long time, as it will not provide any aroma.
Ingredients
- Watercress - 1 bunch
- Plum Tomatoes - 4 pieces
- Lemon - ½ piece
- Ground Cumin - 1 teaspoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Rinse the watercress and chop it into julienne strips.
Step 2
Cut the tomatoes lengthwise into 4 pieces. If the tomatoes are large, first cut the tomato in half and then lengthwise into 4 pieces. For this salad, it is better to use small autumn tomatoes that resemble cherry tomatoes but are slightly larger.
Step 3
Squeeze the juice from half a lemon.
Step 4
In a salad bowl, mix the watercress and tomatoes, add the lemon juice and a teaspoon of ground cumin.
Step 5
Serve immediately with meat, fish, or curry.
