Indonesian Chicken with Mushrooms (Ayam dengan jamur)

Ingredients

  • Chicken fillet - 3 pieces
  • Dried Chinese mushrooms - 10 pieces
  • Soy Sauce - 0 fl oz
  • Garlic - 3 cloves
  • Starch film - 2 tablespoons
  • Scallions - 4 stalks
  • Grated Ginger Root - 1 piece
  • Vegetable Oil - 0 fl oz

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Prepare all ingredients: soak the shiitake mushrooms in a glass of boiling water. Let it steep. When the mushrooms cool down a bit and infuse the water with their wonderful flavor, slice the mushrooms. Reserve the mushroom liquid.

Step 2

Wash, dry with a kitchen towel, and slice the chicken fillet diagonally against the grain. The pieces should not be too small or too large.

Step 3

Finely chop the garlic and ginger. Slice the green onion into rings.

Step 4

Heat a wok, pour in the oil, and wait until it gets hot. Add the chicken to the wok and immediately add the soy sauce. Stir quickly. Add the garlic. Stir. After about 1.5 minutes, add the sliced mushrooms.

Step 5

In the reserved mushroom liquid, add the starch and mix thoroughly. Immediately add it to the wok.

Step 6

Stir quickly. Keep it on the heat for no more than a minute and remove. The sauce should start to thicken.

Step 7

Transfer to a nice serving dish. Garnish with sliced green onion on top.

Step 8

Serve, as always, with white rice (Basmati, Jasmine).
