Japanese Fried Chicken

Ingredients

  • "Petelinka Thigh Fillet" - 4 pieces
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Soy Sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Grated Ginger Root - 2 teaspoons
  • Peanut Butter - 1 qt
  • Corn Starch - ¼ cup
  • Wheat Flour - ¼ cup
  • Salt - to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper - to taste
  • Shallot - 1 head
  • Lemon - 1 piece

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Combine the chicken thighs, soy sauce, minced garlic, and ginger in a medium bowl. Mix well to coat the chicken with the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or marinate for up to 8 hours.

Step 2

Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet to 200°C (392°F). Meanwhile, mix the cornstarch and flour in a medium bowl. Remove the chicken pieces from the marinade and dip them in the flour mixture, coating well. Shake off any excess flour. Place the chicken in the oil. The oil temperature should drop to 130°C (266°F). Cook for 5-7 minutes until the chicken is golden brown.

Step 3

Place the chicken pieces on a paper towel. Remove excess oil. Season with salt. Serve immediately, garnished with green onions and lemon wedges.
