Khachapuri with Homemade Puff Pastry
Ingredients
- Milk - 8 fl oz
- Dry yeast - 1 teaspoon
- Sugar - 2 tablespoons
- Wheat Flour - 3 cups
- Butter - 6.3 oz
- Suluguni Cheese - 4.2 oz
- Cottage cheese - 6.3 oz
- Sour Cream - 3.5 oz
- Parsley - to taste
- Salt - to taste
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Adyghe cheese - 9.9 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
First, make the dough: dissolve the yeast in the milk, add salt, pepper, the egg, and gradually add the flour. Knead the dough.
Step 2
Roll out the dough, brush with butter, roll it into a log. Twist the log into a coil. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
Step 3
Now for the filling: chop the herbs. Mix the cottage cheese, Adyghe cheese, and suluguni with the herbs well. Also, add the second egg — just the white. The yolk will be used for brushing the flatbreads.
Step 4
Now, form small flatbreads from the dough, placing the filling inside. Fold the edges of the flatbread towards the center. Carefully roll out into a flat shape.
Step 5
Place on a baking sheet and bake our khachapuri at 392°F for 15–20 minutes. Let the finished flatbreads cool and serve, brushed with butter.
