Description
Korean-Style Squid
Ingredients
- Squid - 35.3 oz
- Turnips - 3 pieces
- Vegetable Oil - 3 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Vinegar essence - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Sugar - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Red Long Chili Peppers - to taste
- Toasted Sesame - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Boil 3 liters of water in a pot. Add the squid to the boiling water and stir constantly, keeping them there for 2 minutes (no more). Remove the squid with a slotted spoon and rinse the bodies with cold water. Drain in a colander.
Step 2
Grate the carrots into thin strips, add salt, let it sit, and squeeze out the excess juice. Cut the squid into strips.
Step 3
Mix together: squid, carrots, salt, sugar, and vinegar. Top with finely chopped garlic, red and black pepper, and sesame seeds.
Step 4
Slice the onion into half rings and sauté in vegetable oil until golden brown. Pour the hot oil with the onion over the squid (directly onto the pepper and garlic) and mix well. Refrigerate and after half an hour, it can be served (best with boiled rice).
