Description
To save time, you can cook the pasta simultaneously while the béchamel sauce is cooking.
Ingredients
- Ready-made dry lasagna sheets - 1 piece
- Lean Beef - 28.2 oz
- Carrot - 1 piece
- Onion - 1 piece
- Celery stalk - 5 pieces
- Garlic - 1 clove
- Dry White Wine - 2 fl oz
- Tomatoes - 10.6 oz
- Salt - 2 teaspoons
- Ground Black Pepper - 1 teaspoon
- Olive Oil - 2 fl oz
- Fresh basil leaves - to taste
- Melted Cheese - 7.1 oz
- Parmesan Cheese - 7.1 oz
- Wheat Flour - 3 tablespoons
- Milk - 13 fl oz
- Butter - 1.8 oz
- Nutmeg - a pinch
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In boiling salted water, add the lasagna sheets at intervals of 10 seconds to prevent them from sticking together. Cook for 5–8 minutes depending on the type of pasta (check the package).
Step 2
Drain the hot water from the pot and rinse the pasta with cold water, then drain the cold water and drizzle the pasta with olive oil to prevent sticking.
Step 3
Leave in the pot with the lid closed.
Step 4
Béchamel sauce. In a small saucepan, mix the butter, milk, and sifted flour. Also add 1 teaspoon of salt, 0.5 teaspoon of pepper, and nutmeg.
Step 5
Heat the mixture over low heat and cook the sauce for 10 minutes, stirring constantly. It is very important that the sauce does not boil.
Step 6
Bolognese sauce. Chop the carrot, onion, garlic, and celery using a blender or a fine grater. Place in a pot. Puree the tomatoes and set aside in a bowl.
Step 7
Sauté the vegetable mixture in olive oil over high heat for 5 minutes, stirring constantly.
Step 8
Add the ground beef, mix with the vegetables, and sauté over high heat for 8 minutes, stirring constantly. Add the wine, reduce the heat, and cook for 5 minutes.
Step 9
Add the crushed tomatoes, 1 teaspoon of salt, and 0.5 teaspoon of pepper, mix well, and simmer over medium heat for another 20 minutes.
Step 10
Add a bit of fresh basil to the finished sauce.
Step 11
Assemble the lasagna and bake in a preheated oven until ready.
