Lasagna with Cheese in Tomato Sauce "Nik KoLas"

Ingredients

  • Ready-made dry lasagna sheets - 9 pieces
  • Tomatoes - 5 pieces
  • Orange Bell Peppers - 1 piece
  • Crushed Tomatoes in Their Own Juice - 1 can
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Onion - 1 piece
  • Fresh basil leaves - 1 bunch
  • Cottage cheese - 8.8 oz
  • Adyghe cheese - 8.8 oz
  • Melted Cheese - 4.4 oz
  • Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese - 3.5 oz
  • Chocolate eggs - 2 pieces
  • Mint - 1 bunch
  • Mild Chili Spice - 1 piece
  • Salt - to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper - to taste
  • Olive Oil - 2 tablespoons

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Blend canned tomatoes, fresh tomatoes, bell pepper, onion, garlic, and 2/3 of the basil with olive oil in a blender, but do not make it a smooth puree; leave some chunks. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 10

Bake on the middle rack for 20-30 minutes; at the very end, you can place it under the broiler for about five minutes.

Step 11

Remove from the oven and sprinkle with the remaining basil.

Step 2

Grate the Adyghe cheese on a coarse grater, mix it with cottage cheese and eggs.

Step 3

Chop the mint, remove the seeds from the chili pepper if you don't like it too spicy; if you do, chop everything together and mix it with the cheese-cottage cheese mixture. Season with salt and pepper.

Step 4

Divide the mixture into two parts.

Step 5

Slice the mozzarella into thin rounds.

Step 6

Preheat the oven to 356°F.

Step 7

Pour a couple of ladles of tomato sauce onto a medium-sized baking tray, layer three sheets of lasagna, then spread one part of the cheese-cottage cheese mixture, add some mozzarella on top, and sprinkle with Parmesan. Pour a ladle of tomato sauce over it, spreading it evenly.

Step 8

Next, place the following three sheets of lasagna on top, again distribute the cheese mixture, mozzarella, Parmesan, and tomato sauce.

Step 9

Cover with the last three sheets, pour the remaining sauce over, crumble the mozzarella, and sprinkle with Parmesan.
