Description
Latkes — a classic Hanukkah dish.
Ingredients
- Meat - 24.7 oz
- Salad Potatoes - 4 lbs
- Wheat Flour - 1 tablespoon
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Garlic - 2 heads
- Butter - 1.8 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 6 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
In a well-heated mixture of vegetable and butter, fry the garlic cloves until golden brown. Transfer the garlic to a plate, drain the oil into a separate container; this oil will be used for frying the latkes.
Step 2
In the grated potatoes, beat in the egg, add flour, salt, and mix well.
Step 3
Cut the lean pork into small, thin strips.
Step 4
In a heated skillet, pour in a tablespoon of garlic oil, then add the prepared potatoes, spreading them into a layer 4–5 mm thick. Fry for 3 minutes, then place the meat and fried garlic in a single layer in the center of the pancake, cover with a layer of potatoes, and fry on the other side. Fry both sides until golden brown. Serve the finished latkes with sour cream seasoned with horseradish.
