Layered Chicken Salad with Cheese and Pomegranate Seeds
Ingredients
- Onion - 1 piece
- Salad Potatoes - 5 pieces
- Skin-On Chicken Breasts - 17.6 oz
- Chopped almonds - 8.8 oz
- Turnips - 3 pieces
- Farm fresh eggs - 4 pieces
- Cheese Spread - 7.8 oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Layer all the ingredients. Finely chop the onion into cubes and pour boiling water over it.
Step 2
Cut the potatoes into cubes.
Step 3
Slice the chicken breast (preferably smoked or grilled).
Step 4
Grate the walnuts finely or chop them in a blender.
Step 5
Boil the carrots and cut them into cubes.
Step 6
Mash or grate the eggs on a coarse grater.
Step 7
Grate the cheese.
Step 8
Spread mayonnaise on each layer, but not too thickly. Top with pomegranate seeds. If making for a celebration, I use the seeds to create letters or designs. It is advisable to let the salad sit for at least an hour to allow the mayonnaise to soak in.
