Layered New Year's Salad
Ingredients
- Salad Potatoes - 4 pieces
- Smoked Chicken - 7.1 oz
- Pickled Cauliflower - 2 pieces
- Chocolate eggs - 3 pieces
- Cheese Spread - 6.3 oz
- Apple - 1 piece
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Mayonnaise - to taste
- Salt - a pinch
- Ground Black Pepper - a pinch
- Pomegranate Seeds - 20 pieces
- Beetroot - 3.5 oz
- Herbs - 3.5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Wash the potatoes, boil them in their skins, peel, and grate on a coarse grater.
Step 2
Boil the eggs, cool them, peel, and grate.
Step 3
Grate the cheese on a fine grater.
Step 4
Slice the cucumbers into thin strips or cubes.
Step 5
Cut the smoked chicken into small pieces or strips.
Step 6
Peel the apple, grate it on a coarse grater, and sprinkle with lemon juice to prevent browning (it is best to grate the apple just before layering the salad). The apple can be omitted from the salad.
Step 7
Mix the mayonnaise with finely chopped garlic.
Step 8
Layer the salad on a plate, spreading mayonnaise on each layer, and if needed, lightly salt and pepper some layers.
Step 9
Alternatively, you can mix each ingredient separately with mayonnaise and then layer them on the plate in the following order: 1st layer - grated potatoes; 2nd layer - half of the pickled cucumbers; 3rd layer - smoked chicken or boiled squid; 4th layer - remaining cucumbers; 5th layer - eggs; 6th layer - apple (optional); 7th layer - cheese.
Step 10
Spread mayonnaise generously on top of the salad.

Garnish with pomegranate seeds, beetroot, and herbs.
