Layered potatoes baked with blue cheese

Ingredients

  • Potatoes - 2 lbs
  • Chicken Egg - 1 piece
  • Milk - 8 fl oz
  • Hard Cheese - 5.3 oz
  • Blue Cheese - 1.8 oz
  • Red Bell Pepper - 1 piece
  • Garlic - 1 clove
  • Vegetable Oil - to taste
  • Nutmeg - to taste
  • Pepper Mix - to taste
  • Salt - to taste

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Peel the potatoes and slice them into rounds about 2 mm thick.

Step 2

Grate the cheeses and mix them together.

Step 3

In a bowl, mix the milk and egg, add most of the cheese. Season with spices, add salt, and lightly beat with a fork.

Step 4

Finely chop the pepper with a knife.

Step 5

Rub the baking dish with garlic and grease it with olive oil.

Step 6

Evenly layer half of the potatoes in the dish, spread half of the milk and cheese mixture over them.

Step 7

Sprinkle with half of the chopped pepper. Then layer the remaining potatoes, pour the mixture over again, and sprinkle with bell pepper. Top with the remaining cheese.

Step 8

Bake for 40-50 minutes in an oven preheated to 392°F (about 30-40 minutes covered and 10 minutes uncovered for browning).
