Lazy cabbage rolls with tomato sauce
Ingredients
- White Cabbage - 2 lbs
- Lard - 3.5 oz
- Ground meat - 17.6 oz
- Black Cumin (Cumin) - a pinch
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Dry White Wine - 3 fl oz
- Onion - 1 head
- Carrot - 1 piece
- Baking Tomatoes - 14.1 oz
- 33% Cream - 7 fl oz
- Garlic - 6 cloves
- Parsley - 0.4 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 3 fl oz
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Slice the cabbage into thin strips, and chop the onion and carrot into small cubes. Finely chop the bacon and sauté it with sugar in a dry skillet, then let it cool.
Step 2
In 50 ml of vegetable oil, sauté the cabbage until partially cooked, then season with salt and pepper. Combine the bacon with the cabbage and set aside.
Step 3
In the remaining oil, sauté the minced meat until browned, then add the onion and carrot with cumin and continue to cook for another ten minutes, stirring occasionally. Pour in the wine and let it evaporate while stirring, then season with salt and pepper, and mix with the cabbage.
Step 4
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish. In a blender, combine the cream, tomatoes, garlic, and parsley. Season with salt and pepper, then pour this sauce over the cabbage filled with the meat.
Step 5
Place in an oven preheated to 356°F for forty minutes, covering the top with foil. Then remove the foil and bake for an additional twenty minutes.
