Description

This dish does not require a side. The dough may remain, depending on the shape and how many lazy dumplings fit into it.

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour - 14.1 oz
  • Water - ½ cup
  • Salt - to taste
  • Pork Mince - 14.1 oz
  • Onion - 14.1 oz
  • Ground Black Pepper - to taste
  • Bell pepper - 7.1 oz
  • Carrot - 4.9 oz
  • Tomatoes - 7.1 oz
  • Garlic - 2 cloves
  • Milk - ⅔ cup
  • Vegetable Oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Chicken Egg - 1 piece

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Prepare the required ingredients for making lazy dumplings.

Step 2

Place the mince in a convenient bowl. Add the chopped onion (200 grams) and salt and pepper to taste.

Step 3

Knead the mixture until homogeneous and place the bowl with the filling in the refrigerator.

Step 4

Prepare the dough. Sift the flour, add the egg, pour the milk into the bowl, and add salt. Knead the dough well.

Step 5

At the end, add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil and mix well again. Gather the dough into a ball and place it in the refrigerator for half an hour.

Step 6

For the vegetable layer, grind the onion, carrot, and bell pepper. Grate the tomatoes. You can chop everything in a food processor.

Step 7

Pour oil into a heated frying pan, add the prepared vegetables and grated tomatoes. Sauté for 5 minutes.

Step 8

Pour in a glass of water, add the minced garlic and various dried herbs. Season with salt and ground pepper. Stir and simmer the vegetables for 10–15 minutes.

Step 9

Divide the dough into several parts and roll it out thinly. Then cut into long strips 7–8 cm wide. On one side of each strip, place a thin layer of filling. Roll the other side and twist it into a tube to form 'roses'.

Step 10

Pour the vegetable sauce into a baking dish and submerge the dumplings in it for ⅔ of their height. Cover the dish with foil and place it in the oven to bake at 356°F for 50 minutes. Halfway through cooking, pour the sauce over the dish. After the time is up, remove the foil for a nice crust on top.
