Ingredients

  • Shallots - 2 heads
  • Vegetable Oil - 6 tablespoons
  • Salt - to taste
  • Ground Black Pepper - to taste
  • Chopped leafy greens - 10.6 oz
  • Radishes - 6 pieces
  • White Wine Vinegar - 2 tablespoons

Step by Step guide

Step 1

In a small skillet over low heat, begin to sauté the shallots in oil, stirring constantly until the shallots turn golden brown, which will take about 8-10 minutes. Place a paper towel on a plate, use a slotted spoon to remove the shallots from the skillet, and place them on the plate, sprinkling with salt. Pour the remaining oil in the skillet into a small bowl and let it cool.

Step 2

In a large bowl, combine the leafy greens, radishes, and vinegar. Season with salt and pepper. Add the oil left over from frying the shallots and mix everything together. Top the salad with the crispy shallots.

Step 3

The crispy shallots can be made in advance, up to 2 hours ahead. Store the shallots and oil separately at room temperature.
