Lemon chicken with orzo
Ingredients
- "Petelinka Thigh Fillet" - 24.7 oz
- Butter - 1.4 oz
- Onion - 1 head
- Garlic - 3 cloves
- Thyme - 3 sprigs
- Rosemary - 1 sprig
- Wheat Flour - 2 spoons
- Chicken Broth - 25 fl oz
- Dijon Mustard - 0.3 oz
- Orzo Pasta - 7.1 oz
- Spinach - 3.5 oz
- Parmesan Cheese - 2.5 oz
- 33% Cream - 2 fl oz
- Lemon - 1 piece
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Finely chop the onion and garlic.
Step 3
Remove the leaves from the stems of the thyme and rosemary, and chop them.
Step 4
Rub the chicken thighs with salt and pepper.
Step 5
Melt the butter in a heavy-bottomed pot and sauté the chicken until golden brown. It's better to do this in batches for a more even sear on the meat. Transfer the chicken to a clean dish.
Step 6
In the same pot, sauté the onion until it becomes soft.
Step 7
Add the garlic, thyme, and rosemary, and sauté for another minute.
Step 8
Add the flour and sauté until light brown.
Step 9
Add the mustard and chicken broth, and stir well.
Step 10
Add the orzo, season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
Step 11
Add the spinach, cream, grated Parmesan, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Simmer until cooked through, stirring occasionally.
Step 12
Place the chicken on top of the cooked orzo, cover with a lid, and heat for 5 minutes.
Step 13
Serve the lemon chicken with orzo immediately.
