Lenten zrazy with mushrooms
Ingredients
- Potatoes - 2 lbs
- Wheat Flour - 1 cup
- Onion - 1 head
- Vegetable Oil - 3 fl oz
- Fresh champignons - 17.6 oz
- Salt - 1⅒ teaspoons
- Sugar - 0.6 teaspoons
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Chop the mushrooms and onion.
Step 2
Fry the onion until golden brown and add the mushrooms. Add 0.5 teaspoons of salt and pepper to taste. Simmer on low heat until the mushrooms are browned (10-20 minutes). The filling should not be wet. Let cool.
Step 3
Peel the potatoes and cut them into pieces. Boil until tender. Drain all the water.
Step 4
Mash the warm potatoes and add 0.6 teaspoons of salt and 0.6 teaspoons of sugar.
Step 5
To the potatoes, add 4-5 tablespoons of sifted flour. The dough should be firm but soft like plasticine. Adjust by reducing the amount of flour or adding 1 tablespoon of water.
Step 6
With wet hands, take 1.5-2 tablespoons of dough and form a patty about 1 cm thick.
Step 7
Place 1.5 teaspoons of filling inside. Shape into a pie.
Step 8
Coat in flour.
Step 9
Fry on medium heat until golden brown. Serve warm or cold.
