Ingredients
- Salt - to taste
- Olive Oil - 6 tablespoons
- Sausages - 12 pieces
- Champagne Vinegar - 2 tablespoons
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Carrot - 1 piece
- Bay leaf - 1 piece
- Black Beluga Lentils - 21.2 oz
- Onion - 1 piece
- Ground clove - 2 pieces
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Stick the cloves into the onion. Pour the lentils into a pot, add the onion, bay leaf, carrot cut into 4 pieces, garlic, and add enough water to cover all the ingredients. Cover with a lid and bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium and cook for 1 to 1.5 hours until the lentils are soft. Drain the broth, saving it. Remove the onion, bay leaf, garlic, and carrot.
Step 2
Place the lentils in a large salad bowl. Whisk together the vinegar, oil, and a pinch of salt, and drizzle the mixture over the lentils. Toss to combine. Serve warm or cold.
