Ingredients
- Lentils - 1 glass
- Fresh Mushrooms - 10.6 oz
- Onion - 2 heads
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Carrot - 1 piece
- Salt - to taste
- Parsley - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Dill - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Rinse the lentils well and place them in a pot.
Step 2
Pour 2.5 to 3 cups of water over the lentils, place it on the heat, and bring to a boil.
Step 3
After bringing to a boil, reduce the heat, add salt, and simmer for about 20 minutes, skimming off any foam, until the lentils are tender but still hold their shape. If there is any liquid left after cooking, you can drain it.
Step 4
Peel and finely chop the onion.
Step 5
Peel and chop the garlic.
Step 6
Wash the carrot, peel it, and grate it using a coarse grater.
Step 7
Wash the mushrooms and slice them.
Step 8
In a heated skillet with vegetable oil, sauté the onion and garlic until soft, about 1-2 minutes.
Step 9
Add the carrots and sauté, stirring occasionally, for about 3 minutes.
Step 10
Add the mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally, for 8 minutes, until tender.
Step 11
Add the cooked lentils to the skillet with the mushrooms.
Step 12
Add the chopped herbs.
Step 13
Season with salt and pepper to taste, and mix the lentils with the mushrooms.
