Description
Lentils in tomato with onion are prepared similarly; just add 3–4 tablespoons of tomato paste to the sautéed onion and let it boil. Lentils in sour cream with onion are made the same way as with just onion: add 1/2 cup of sour cream to the sautéed onion and bring to a boil.
Ingredients
- Lentils - 1 cup
- Vegetable Oil - 2 teaspoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Sort the lentils, rinse well, cover with 500 ml of cold water, and let soak for 3–4 hours. After that, drain the water, cover the lentils with fresh water, and bring to a boil. Add salt before the cooking is complete. Once the lentils are cooked and their grains become soft, drain the remaining water, season the lentils with oil, and serve.
Step 2
The lentils can also be seasoned with sautéed onion. For this, finely chop one medium-sized onion and sauté it with a small amount of oil. Add the remaining oil directly to the lentils.
