Description
For this recipe, it's best to use frozen mussel halves, which can be purchased at the supermarket. Working with closed shells will take more effort, but it will probably still be delicious. Thaw them in the refrigerator on the top shelf in a colander overnight.
Ingredients
- Green Tagliatelle Pasta - 17.6 oz
- Pasta shells - 17.6 oz
- Parsley - 1 bunch
- Garlic - 2 heads
- Canned Tomatoes (Pelati) - 14.1 oz
- Dry White Wine - 3 fl oz
- Butter - 2 tablespoons
- Olive Oil - 2 tablespoons
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Thaw the mussel halves.
Step 2
Finely chop the garlic and sauté it in olive oil over medium heat for 2 minutes, without letting it brown.
Step 3
Add the mussel halves, placing them meat side down, and sauté for 3 minutes, then pour in the white wine and simmer for another 2 minutes.
Step 4
Add the can of diced tomatoes in their juice, reduce the heat, and mix well.
Step 5
Simmer for about 5 minutes, then add the finely chopped parsley and butter.
Step 6
Remove from heat and mix well.
Step 7
Cook the linguine until al dente.
Step 8
Drain the water.
Step 9
Mix the linguine with the mussel sauce and serve.
