  • Mackerel - 1 piece
  • Lemon - 1 piece
  • Olive Oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Onion - 1.8 oz
  • Mild Chili Spice - 1 piece
  • Salt - to taste
  • French Baguette - 1 piece
  • Butter - 1.8 oz
  • Malt Vinegar - 0 fl oz
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon

Step by Step guide

Step 1

Remove the fillet from the mackerel, remove the bones, and cut into cubes.

Step 2

Slice the baguette and toast it in butter.

Step 3

Finely chop the chili pepper and onion.

Step 4

Grate the lemon zest.

Step 5

For the marinade, squeeze the lemon juice into a bowl, add vinegar, sugar, chili with onion, lemon zest, olive oil, and salt. Mix well.

Step 6

Pour the marinade over the fish and let it sit for 10 minutes. Serve the tartare on the baguette.
