Description
Masala Chai! A spicy, very spicy Indian tea with milk.
Ingredients
- Clove - 8 pieces
- Cardamom - 1 tablespoon
- Cinnamon - 1 piece
- Grated Ginger Root - 1 tablespoon
- Ground fennel seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Black tea - 6 teaspoons
- Milk - 1¼ l
- Water - 1½ l
- Sugar - 5 oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Break the cinnamon stick into large pieces.
Step 2
Roughly chop the clove.
Step 3
Bring water to a boil in a large saucepan.
Step 4
Add the spices and simmer for 2 minutes over medium heat.
Step 5
Add the tea leaves and simmer for another minute.
Step 6
Then reduce the heat to low and simmer for another 5 minutes.
Step 7
Pour in the milk and bring it to a boil.
Step 8
Increase the heat, then reduce it back to low and simmer for 2 minutes.
Step 9
Remove the saucepan from the heat, add the sugar, and stir.
Step 10
Strain the tea through a fine sieve into a cup.
Step 11
Serve.
