Ingredients
- Water - 17 fl oz
- Milk - 17 fl oz
- Grated Ginger Root - 0.4 oz
- Bay leaf - 0.1 oz
- Green peppercorns - 0.2 oz
- Cardamom - 0.4 oz
- Cinnamon - 0.2 oz
- Clove - 0.2 oz
- Assam Tea - 0.3 oz
- Sugar - to taste
- Honey - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
For the spice mix, grind the bay leaf, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and more cloves in a mortar and pestle. You can use a coffee grinder instead, which will be much quicker.
Step 2
Sift the resulting mixture through a fine sieve. Store it in an airtight container.
Step 3
Pour water into a pot, add tea, ginger, and 2 grams of the spice blend, bring to a boil, and simmer for 3–5 minutes.
Step 4
Add the milk, bring to a boil, and cook for another 2–3 minutes.
Step 5
Finally, add sugar or honey.
