- Ground meat - 17.6 oz
- Passata Tomato Sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Chicken Egg - 1 piece
- Breadcrumbs - 1 cup
- Vegetable Oil - 3 tablespoons
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Onion - 1 piece
- Carrot - 1 piece
- Orange Bell Peppers - 1 piece
- Tomatoes - 5 pieces
- Water - 7 fl oz
- Boiled White Round Rice - 1 tablespoon
- Parsley - 1 bunch
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Combine the ground meat, rice, tomato paste, finely chopped herbs, and egg. Season with salt and pepper, and mix well. Form the mixture into balls about 3 cm in diameter, coat them in breadcrumbs, and fry in vegetable oil until cooked through.
Step 2
Prepare the sauce. Peel and finely chop the onion, carrot, and bell pepper. Pour boiling water over the tomatoes for 30 seconds, then peel and chop the flesh. Sauté the vegetables for 5–7 minutes, then add water and mix well.
Step 3
Add the fried meatballs to the sauce and simmer covered for 30 minutes.
