Description
A dish for those who enjoy its sauce, which has a rather unusual taste for a Russian palate. You can also simply fry the meatballs and enjoy them without sauce or prepare another sauce that suits your taste better. - Any cheese can be used. - Instead of breadcrumbs, you can use bread soaked in milk.
Ingredients
- Ground meat - 10.6 oz
- Onion - 3 pieces
- Mustard Greens - 1 tablespoon
- Salt - to taste
- Balsamic Vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Black Currant Jam - 1 tablespoon
- Rosemary - to taste
- Breadcrumbs - 1.4 oz
- Vegetable Oil - 2 tablespoons
- Wheat Flour - 1 tablespoon
- Cheshire Cheese - 1.4 oz
- Beer - 8 fl oz
Step by Step guide
Step 1
1. Finely chop the onion. Take 2/3 of this onion and sauté it in 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil along with rosemary.
Step 2
2. Take 80-90% of the ground meat (the remaining 10-20% will be used for the sauce). Add the sautéed onion with rosemary, breadcrumbs (40 grams is approximately 3 tablespoons heaped), salt, and mix everything thoroughly.
Step 3
3. Form meatballs with a diameter of 4-5 cm (you will get about 4 meatballs), placing a small cube of cheese (about 1 cm on each side) in the center of each.
Step 4
4. Place the meatballs in a deep dish, the bottom of which is greased with oil. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes at 180°C.
Step 5
5. While the meatballs are in the oven, prepare the sauce. Sauté the remaining 1/3 of the onion in 1 tablespoon of oil along with the leftover ground meat (about 3-5 minutes). Add the jam, mustard, vinegar, beer, flour, and water. Once the sauce boils, add the jam and simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 6
6. Pour the sauce over the meatballs and return them to the oven for another 10 minutes.
