Ingredients
- Bacon - 4.4 oz
- Lean Beef - 17.6 oz
- Pork Mince - 17.6 oz
- Onion - 1 head
- Garlic - 2 cloves
- Breadcrumbs - 5.6 oz
- Ground Caraway - 2 teaspoons
- Red Wine Vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Egg white - 1 piece
- Brown Sugar - 2 teaspoons
- Spices - to taste
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 356°F. Grease a loaf pan with oil and line it with parchment paper.
Step 2
Heat a skillet over medium heat and fry the finely chopped bacon until crispy. Place it on a paper towel.
Step 3
In a large bowl, combine the meat, finely chopped onion and garlic, breadcrumbs, crushed caraway seeds, egg, vinegar, sugar, and bacon. Generously season with spices and mix by hand, not with a mixer.
Step 4
Transfer the mixture to the pan and press it down lightly. Smooth the top and bake for 1 hour and 10 minutes, or until cooked through. Insert a fork or metal skewer into the center of the loaf, leave it for 3 seconds, then touch it immediately. If the fork is very hot, it's done; if not, cook for a little longer. Let it rest for 5 minutes, then invert the pan onto a plate. Slice and drizzle with the juices from the pan.
