Description
Meatloaf with Chili Sauce
Ingredients
- Milk - ½ cup
- White bread - 4 slices
- Lean Beef - 24.7 oz
- Pork Mince - 24.7 oz
- Onion - 2 heads
- Garlic - 6 cloves
- Chili jam - ½ cup
- Ketchup - ½ cup
- Parsley - 2.5 oz
- Grated Pecorino Pepato Cheese - 2.1 oz
- Farm fresh eggs - 2 pieces
- Salt - to taste
- Ground Black Pepper - to taste
- Brown Sugar - 1 tablespoon
Step by Step guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 356°F. Place the slices of bread in a large bowl, pour in the milk, and let them soak. Add the ground pork and ground beef, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, ¼ cup of chili sauce, ¼ cup of ketchup, parsley, Parmesan, beaten eggs, 1.5 teaspoons of salt, and ½ teaspoon of pepper. Mix with your hands, but do not overmix, or the loaf will not be fluffy.
Step 2
Divide the mixture into 2 equal parts. Shape into loaves. One part can be refrigerated for 1 day or frozen for later use.
Step 3
Bake for 50 minutes at 356°F. While the loaf is in the oven, mix 1.8 cups of chili sauce, ketchup, and brown sugar. Remove the loaf from the oven, brush with the glaze, and return to the oven for another 10 minutes.
Step 4
Take the loaf out of the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes. Remove from the pan and slice into moderately thick pieces.
